Objective of the Assignment

The overall objective of this assignment is to support DoHS/MoHP for effective implementation of HCWM plan. The specific objectives are:

• To assess the HCWM status in Nepal
• build the capacity on HCWM and operation and maintenance (O & M) of HCW treatment technologies
• To assist local level/municipality for integrated HCWM
• To assist in awareness building on HCWM

Scope of the services

The scope of the services to be accomplished by the Consulting firm includes, but are not necessarily limited to the following tasks:

• Develop methodology including methods and tools to implement the activities of this assignment
• Assess HCWM practices, methods, actors, gap and challenges in Nepal
• Conduct diagnostic assessment of HCWM in Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal
• Assist to one selected local level/municipality for IHCWM by establishing HCWM unit as part of Central treatment Facility
• Develop pool of TOT on sustainable HCWM and O & M of HCW treatment technologies
• Develop comprehensive HCWM audio visual materials (also can be used for trainings) and standard HCWM sticker
• Build the capacity of both public and private Health Care Facilities on sustainable HCWM and O & M of HCW treatment technologies
• Assist to organize technical working group meetings and study finding dissemination workshops
• Assist to develop waste management tracking system and link with health management information system.
• Coordinate with EHHCWMS/Management Division of the DOHS to plan and implement the assignment
